How to Add and Update Foods
Click an update function on the home page, like Add Food Items. Simply enter the food name and brand name as found on the product package. Some products are listed differently in the database to facilitate finding them. Be sure to select the category based on grocery store isles. |
This is what the page looks like when you are adding a food item not detected in the food data base. It could be that it is named differently. But that is fine, since the new way you enter the food item increases the chances of someone finding the item within the database. Select Add New Food button, unless you see your item already listed below.  |
In this scenario the program believes that the item you entered is already in the system, and therefore the Add New Item button does not show. Look down the automated list and find which item you were going to enter. Click on it's blue product number and edit information on the next page. |
