Click an update function on the home page, like Add to Food DB . Simply enter the food name and brand name as found on the product package. If you can not remember the full name, put in the letters that you know. The Food DB may list one product several different ways to help you find the item. Once you have entered the Food Name and Brand, please select a category. This category is based on how grocery store isles are often organized.
Then click continue button.

If there is no close match to what you entered an orange box called, "Add New Food" will show up. If you want to add this new food in as you have entered it, then click on the "Add New Food" button. There may be some food items listed below the orange button (not shown here) and you should look for your item in that list. Select Add New Food button, unless you see your item already listed below.

In this scenario the program believes that the item you entered is already in the system, and therefore the Add New Item button does not show. Look down the automated list and find which item you were going to enter. Click on it's blue product number as shown as 9849 below and edit information on the next page (not shown here). On the edit page you may change data as maintained in the database. Even if you make a mistake, you can go back and fix it. Try this by clicking Add to Food DB.
